COMPLETE RV POWER SYSTEM ENGINEERING
More Than a Solar or Battery Calculator
RV Solar + Battery Designer brings loads, solar, batteries, charging, vehicle integration, air conditioning and electrical limits into one connected design. Instead of sizing each component in isolation, the Designer works from how you actually use your RV and builds the electrical system around the requirement.
Capture the facts → calculate the requirement → select compatible equipment → validate the engineering → simulate real operation.
Design the Whole System — Not Just the Battery
Every major part of an RV electrical system affects the others. A larger battery might store more energy, but without sufficient charging it will never reach full capacity.

Solar
How much energy can realistically be generated.

Battery
How much energy needs to be stored and how fast it can safely charge.

Model What You Actually Use
RV energy use is more than adding appliance wattages together. Our model considers appliance power, duration, time of day, and continuous vs duty-cycle demand.

A 1,800 W toaster used for 3 minutes consumes 90 Wh. But the inverter must supply the full 1,800 W.
Energy

Peak Power

Modeled Factors
- Appliance power & quantity
- Duration & Frequency
- Daily/Weekly cycles
- AC/DC demand
- Simultaneous use
- Peak inverter demand
Examples: Fridges, Induction, Microwave, Coffee, Starlink, AC, Pumps.
Air Conditioning Based on the RV
Not a Guess
Air conditioning energy use depends on environment and construction. The Designer calculates sensible and latent loads based on RV geometry, insulation performance, and solar heat gain.

Charging
Alternator/DC-DC, shore power and generator contribution.

Loads
What the RV actually consumes and when.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE
Adding a larger battery alone does not fix inadequate solar, limited alternator charging, undersized MPPT, or an inverter that cannot supply peak load. The Designer evaluates the complete system.
- RV dimensions & insulation
- Windows & solar exposure
- Internal appliance heat
- Ambient temp & humidity
- A/C efficiency & modulation
- Part-load efficiency factors
A well-insulated caravan at night may only require short compressor cycles, while a poorly insulated RV in full summer sun could force continuous maximum operation, drastically changing energy demand.

Australian Solar Data — Location Matters
Location-specific solar data ensures conservative design. An identical 1,000 W array produces different returns in Hobart in July vs Darwin in January.

Location Variability
The model maps seasonal variation, local climate, and shade factors to provide reachable net energy expectations.

Design the RV Power System as One Complete System
From the appliances you use and the places you travel, through solar, charging, and real-world simulation — RV Solar + Battery Designer connects the decisions that determine whether your system actually works.
