How Big Rigs Camp Finder Got Built in a Week

From a real problem — no campsite finder made for anything bigger than a caravan — to a live app in about a week. Here's how it came together.
G'day, it's Dazza again. Last post I talked about why I started Dazza Does It For You. This one's about the first real thing I built with it — Big Rigs Camp Finder — and how it came together in about a week.
The problem
If you're running a big rig — a converted bus, a 5th wheeler towed by something heavy-duty, a Class A motorhome, anything over about 10 metres — you'll know this one already. Every caravan and camping app out there is built for a pop-top and a picnic blanket. You rock up to a site that looked fine on the map, and you can't fit. Or you back a 40-foot bus with a 20-foot trailer on the back out of somewhere it never should've gone in the first place. There wasn't an app built for rigs this size. So I built one.
Who it's for
Big Riggers — that's what I call the crowd this is actually built for. Bus conversions, 5th wheelers, Class A motorhomes. Not commercial trucking, not road trains — this is leisure travel and touring, just the big-rig end of it. Same spirit as caravanning, bigger rigs.
What's actually in it
You filter sites by your rig's length band — 10 to 13 metres, 14 to 17, or 18 metres and up — so you're only looking at places that can actually fit you, not guessing. Every listing carries the amenities that matter when you're this size: power, water, dump points, showers, pet-friendly, wifi and mobile reception, fishing and boat ramp access, fuel, and whether it's all-weather or dry-weather-only access. You can check the map as a normal road map, satellite, or contour view, depending on what you need to see before you commit to a turn.
The bit I'm proudest of is the community side. There's a forum for trip ideas and campsite proposals, a photo gallery where Big Riggers can submit pics of their own rigs, and a reward system — gold, silver, bronze, and blue star tiers — for people who add sites, fix up listings, and leave honest reviews. The best information comes from people actually out there doing it, not from me sitting at a desk guessing.
How I actually built it
I used Base44 — an AI app builder — to go from 'here's the idea' to a real, working app without a dev team or months on the clock. Planned it out, built the core pieces, tested it against the actual problem (fitting a big rig into a real site), fixed what needed fixing, and shipped it. About a week, start to finish. She's not perfect — there's plenty still to add, and the community's input is going to make it better over time — but she works, and she's live.
